Gentlemen-

Please allow me to introduce my self....I am an American, residing in Washington State USA. I had a little experience this evening involving your web site and I felt compelled to write.

On a recent camping trip I became acquainted with a wonderful microbrew called Widner Sommerbrau--manufactured in Portland, Oregon, USA. This wonderful ale is not only very tasty and refreshing, but also, includes under each cap, a handy little prost. (Just in case the drinking mood becomes a little overjoyful, and all thoughtful brain cells cannot be roused to conjur a simple expression of gratitude--you simply pop the top of one of these brews and ...walllahhh...a good wish at your very fingertips!!!)

Now please bear with me as I try to recant the events of this evening-I will try to keep this short...

This evening as I sat down to dine and imbibe with my fiance, (who is, by the way, English) He turned his Widner cap over and offered a moments praise "to batmobiles".

I gave a moment of exaggerated pondering and sent out some vibes of gratitude to Bat transportation and then eagerly responded with my own Widner toast "to..to...to zy..mur..geee...." I turned the cap to my betrothed "what does that say?"

"to Zymmm..ergeee" he responded.

"Zymurgy? Do you know what that is?"

We were both puzzled...all I could think of was "Zygot" and "Energy" which was pretty much along the same lines of what my fiance was thinking (is always thinking) only I was at least attempting some linguistic methodology in my deciphering.

Later, after dinner, a movie, 2 more Widners and 4 more toasts, no dictionary on hand, and having wasted much of a very good evening with the mysterious Zym-word on the brain, I finally resorted to taking a little journey on the information highway to see what sites I could find relevant to Zymurgy.

I found 7 sites; the first, a brewing club based in California, while not offering a complete definition of Zymurgy, probably could have sufficed my curiousity, but just as I was thinking that I was on the right path--I saw your site, which left me questioning what else Zymurgy could mean if one were talking about Volley ball.

Not only did I find your site very interesting, but you also saved my evening by providing me with a dictionary definition for the zymurgy-word. thereby resolving my little crisis without having to browse 5 more sites, and allowing me to rest peacefully tonight!!

Oh yes, and making me genuinely thankful for Zymurgists.

THANKS and CHEERS
