B.A.C. Training

Training of beginners at Balbedie Aeromodelling Club is under control of Tom Bennett helped by a number of flyers who are designated instructors.

The number of designated trainers have increased to cover weekdays

Trainers:-       Tom Bennett, Tom Brown, Willie Steele, Pat Baxter, Barry Widley, Jim West, Jim Cattanach

Buddy Box control is advised by B.A.C. to reduce the risk of damage to the students aircraft. To make basic flying training, landing and taking off faster and easier. Ideally the student should ensure that he has two buddy lead compatible transmitters so that the trims, servo directions and rates can be set to give a consistent aircraft setup. Tom Bennett can advise anyone who requires further information regarding the best and cheapest way of acquiring the correct equipment.

Beginners are encouraged to work towards the SAA or BMFA Achievement Schemes Bronze Award and the club has produced a simple but helpful booklet (see a copy in the members section) with a record of progress so the student can see the progress they are making . It also allows any instructor to quickly see the stage each student has reached so the correct training can continue independent of which instructor is available. Each student will have his progress charted on a simple form so that he and the instructor can see the progress and advise accordingly
