
DJ-ADS1 single seat racer
General Description The DJ-ADS1 is a fully triangulated spaceframe chassis incorporating the latest computer aided design suspension technology and aerodynamics giving outstanding driveability and handling. In it's first season of competition it set one outright hill record and won many events with several FTD's. It never failed to finish an event lower than third using a standard engine.
Suspension Front and rear suspension by double unequal length wishbones, inboard adjustable coil over shock absorbers operated by bellcranks and push rods.
Chassis Chassis construction is a steel spaceframe using thin walled square and round section tubing with extensive triangulation and laser cut pickup points and brackets. Particular attention has been paid to the chassis structural integrity with extensive bracing of the main roll hoop. This has resulted in an extremely high torsional stiffness providing considerable cockpit protection. Total weight approx 321kg race ready.
Brakes Front and rear 250mm dia. cross drilled lightweight discs with Willwood, AP2 or 4 pot calipers. Bias braking by pedal adjustable balance bar or adjustable pressure valve to cater for varying driver leg lengths.
Wheels and Tyres 3 piece split rim lightweight polished alloy wheels with standard Ford PCD or Centrelock fixing available in various widths. Avon slick or grooved tyres available in various widths and compounds.
Power Unit Suzuki GSXR 1074cc water cooled (other engines can be installed). Transverse 16 valve 4 cylinder mid mounted 126bhp standard easily tuned at minimal cost to 145bhp producing 125bhp at the rear wheels and a power to weight ratio of 426bhp per tonne, 300bhp in turbocharged form giving 882bhp per tonne.
The Suzuki GSXR 1100 WP engine and transmission assembly Final Drive Quaiffe torque biasing limited slip differential coupled to high tensile drive shafts, high specification chain drive to alloy rear sprocket, chain tensioning by means of a unique infinitely adjustable elliptical differential carrier (no shims required). Rear sprockets can be changed to adjust final drive ratios extremely quickly due to a split sprocket arrangement.
Aerodynamics Front and rear aerofoils adjustable for angle of attack, rear diffuser, side pods incorporating radiator and oil cooler.
Miscellaneous Quick release aerospace type flush fuel filler cap, large capacity fuel tank, hand built aluminum water radiator and swirl pot (if applicable).
Optional Extras Steering wheel mounted paddle gear change, gear status indicator light, electric motor reverse drive with interlock and dash warning light, data logging to customer specification, plumbed in fire extinguisher, front and rear anti roll bars.
