The average CISS score for 102 AASCI alcohol users was 8.1 (SD = 3.4)
Correlations with CISS scores
Alcohol consumption measures were available for all clients, and some of the 43 clients also completed other scales. These variables were correlated (using Pearson two-tailed correlations) with CISS scores in the table below.

Higher CISS scores were significantly associated with being male, having more health problems, not being in the 'action' stage of change, and drinking more alcohol. CISS scores were unrelated to age.
