Mount Manisty.

This feature covers several acres and rises approximately 200 feet above the surrounding land. It is made up entirely of material removed during the canal excavation and is named after the engineer responsible for that section of the canal construction.

Further dumping grounds are on the Frodsham marshes and also at Warrington and Woolston, the latter dumpings being made into large banks enclosing low lying areas into which dredgings are constantly dumped.
