About

The Good Companions ADS have been performing amateur drama at John Keble church in Edgware, Middlesex since 1933. Over the years we have presented all types of drama, as well as large-scale musicals and pantomimes. We are now one of the leading drama groups in the London Borough of Barnet. Each Spring we enter a full length play for the Barnet and District Drama Festival. Last year "A Voyage round my Father" won 6 awards. In the Summer we often do a series of workshops, a Music Hall, or a musical entertainment devised by a member of the group. These activities provide an opportunity for all members to take part. In the Winter we stage our Pantomime or a musical, 'Wind in the Willows', 'Peter Pan' & 'Calamity Jane' being among our recent successes.

We are very fortunate in having permanent use of the John Keble Hall, and members of our dedicated stage crew build our sets. Members not in the cast of a production often help with the building and painting of these. We have an extensive costume department, from which we hire to other groups and private individuals.

As well as our activities on stage we lead a busy social life with visits to see plays presented by other groups in our area. Our barbecues and Christmas parties are always well attended. We have many enthusiastic young members who are always willing to lend a hand in all areas of our work.

We are a friendly Group and consider ourselves Good Companions indeed!

We meet regularly at 8pm. on Tuesdays and offer a warm welcome to new members. Please come along if you are interested in joining or e-mail us.

If you would like to see our next production, details follow.
