A wonderful evening in June at The Barnet and District Drama Festival Awards Night culminated when, to a packed audience, the results of the competition were announced. An amazing evening when The GCs swept the board winning 6 awards. Surely a record!
Best All round Production. "A Voyage Round My Father".
Best Director. Mary Ennis.
Best Theatrical Production. For the staging, costumes, props etc.
Best Actress. Sylvia Daker as the mother.
The Most Promising Young Player. Gregory Kearns (12) as Reigate .
Adjudicator's Special Award. John Bunce, Iain Savage and Daniel Pocklington
for excellent sound effects and lighting.
The adjudicator could find no fault and praised the ensemble team- work, with no weakness in any of the cast, which she found amazing, as they numbered over 20. She said: "It was the most touching, enjoyable, professional production I have seen in many years" And to Mary Ennis as director "I can teach you nothing"
