January 2001
One day, these new tracks will be finished - but until then the pile of songs gets bigger, and they all move another step closer. In the mean time, we've heard at least one track is to be used in the upcoming British film Bord due for release later this year. We'll keep you posted on which track(s) and release dates etc.

December 2000
Yet more recording - remixing and extra bits added to various new tracks including more scratching from Dino on 'Don't Ask the Giraffe Man'. Three more new tracks also started including 'Posess Me', a tentatively/temporarily titled 'It's you who gets me through' and another one as yet untitled - but it's a goodie....

August 2000
More
work on more new songs! Those started in June are almost completed apart from vocals which should be done over the next few weeks. The new lyrics are in progress, but with titles such as 'The Devil's Luck' and 'Don't ask the Giraffe-Man' you know they're gonna be worth a listen. To read this work in progress head for the
page. The newest tracks still only exist in the heads of dizzydizzy. As always, the mission is to get them recorded b4 they are lost forever.....and get them out there for everyone and anyone to listen to.......

July 2000
R
ediscovered old lyrics from too long ago to contemplate. From the angry What's in your mind, the self-explanatory Food is Fun through to What's your side of the story with the line "I'll put it down on a tape instead and I'll send it to a man with an exploding head" - ahh, good advice if ever I heard it.........all now added to the end of the for your enjoyment and amusement.

June 2000
Putting the finishing touches to 5 new tracks. Dizzydizzy are constantly changing and evolving; the new tracks are based around acoustic guitar, mega-groovy beats, bubblin' burblin' analogue synth and some scratching from Dino. Still instantly recognisable as dizzydizzy but with a sound for 2001 (ahead of the game as always). Once completed samples of the tracks will be posted to this site - but not before Jon comes back from a week's surfing! - keep watching.

April/May 2000
Writing and recording new songs - laying down bass and beats for some new songs and writing new ones as well - most promisng one of the written but unrecorded bunch is called humdrum - once you hear the track you will know exactly what this is about -
do NOT be average

Also finishing lyrics to tracks recorded over the last year but never completed. They always change after playing and living with them for a few months so they're at that in-between stage at the moment. The song titles either come first or last - of this lot there was only one that came first - I'm only small because I'm far away......

April 2000
DizzyDizzy have their album doubledizzy featured on the peoplesound and mpreal websites. The tracks Unavailable and Be Myself are available for free download as mp3s as well as other short samples and you can buy your own copy of the album.

March/April 2000
Dizzy dizzy update their equipment so they are now completely computer based. As well as potentially improving the quality of their recordings they now have more flexibility as the computer is a portable, enabling them to record anyone, anytime, anywhere.....

The dizzy dizzy philisophy on such things has always been pretty anti-computer, not anti-technology; they've been using samplers, sequencers and drum machines for years but these have always been specific pieces of music gear. They didn't need to see their music on a computer screen- it's not what it looks like, it's what it sounds like. They've always used their gear to the full and could chop up and edit any sequence just as fast as on any computer.
"We never saw the advantage of the distraction of a computer; knowing that a note is on the right 96th of the beat, who cares!!!
What does it sound like ?!!!!!!
If it sounds great that's all you need to know.
We don't want to spend weeks and weeks perfecting and correcting evey note - just play it right, record it right - a few bum-notes and not playing in perfect time - this is what makes music sound like music, and sound like our music."

Quite simply they could do everything they wanted quicker and better without computers - until now! At last, computers and software seem to be getting more in tune with music. You can use the computer as a tool, even an instrument, to help you create your music, as opposed to struggling and fighting with an unhelpful system to just get back to where you were before you started....
You can now do things with a computer you can't practically do any other way - the band knows this and is now using computers in their music, in the same way they use everything else - at the limit of how it's supposed to be used, and doing things you're not supposed to, experimenting at all times and not reading the instruction book
