FAQS & ANSWERS

Accommodation:

Do we stay at one place? Yes. It's more relaxing. It also saves the hassle of packing and moving on. So we radiate out each day.

"La Pognandiere" Dating from the 19th century this traditional, red-brick, bourgeoise house is set in nearly four acres of grounds, close to the peaceful hamlet of Aubry-le-Panthou, in rolling 'La Pognandiere' countryside.
This former residence of the village mayor, Victor Boisson (1834-1899) is set deep in Normandy's beautiful and peacefull 'Pays d'Auge'.
On a hillside known as 'La Pognandiere' and on a quiet country lane with lovely views over the Valley de la Vie, this friendly accommodation is ideally situated for sightseers, tourers and those seeking a restful retreat away from it all.

There are three bedrooms:- 2 with King-size beds, 1 with twin beds.
Each room has a television and the facilities for making your own tea or coffee. Ideal for the early riser or, unfortunate insomniac.

Within 4 miles of Camembert (cheese!). It is equally close to Mont Ormel - the Corridor of Death - and the Battle of the Falaise Gap. Mont Ormel was the 'Gap' through which the German 7th Army was escaping and was sealed by the Poles in August 1944. During that horrific 4 day battle 10,000 German soldiers perished.

Bookings / Reservations

When should we make a booking?    Should we book early?

Yes, book as early as you can. This is a small company and so there are only a limited number of places (6) available at any given time. Once you have decided on your holiday movements it would be prudent to reserve a place.
It would be especially prudent to book if you are forming your own group. It would avoid losing the dates you want.
We are quite willing to 'pencil you in' as it helps give us an idea of the forthcoming year's requirements. However, a reservation is only considered 'firm' on receipt of a deposit.
If you have any doubts, please ask by e-mailing - Info@NormandySafaris.co.uk .

Dates

What do we do if the dates we want aren't shown on the schedule?
Ask for the dates you want.

Currency

European local currency is now the Euro . One Euro is roughly equivalent to $1.50 dollars.

How much do I need? You require money for entrance fees to museums, gardens etc. (approx. 6 euros pp), lunches whether they are in a Bistro (approx. 15euros pp) or picnics (5 euros pp) and 2 evening meals taken in local Bistros/ Restaurants (approx. 20 euros pp).

150euros pp should cover you adequately. Money can always be obtained at an ATM.
