            ALSACE
This picture book fairy tale region clings to the foothills of the Vosges mountains in the north eastern corner of France. The wines are known by the grape variety from which they are produced, giving aromatic, quality dry wines shown unmistakably by gewurtztraminer with its bouquet of exotic wild flowers. Alsace wines are under appreciated here in the UK which is a great pity since they dovetail in admirably with many of the Spicy Asian food styles.
