LOIRE
The river Loire meanders and waters this lovely vineyard valley through some of the most scenic routes in the whole of the country. This 'Jardin de France' produces lively, fresh appetising wines that are bursting with tangy charm. Best exemplified by the exhilaratingly fruity Muscadet sur Lie from the famous Ch Carre and Sancerre Domaine Raimbault, with its asparagus, grassy bouquet and flavour. Great surprises are in store from the flavoursome reds with their delicious violet and raspberry aromas.

ALSACE
This picture book fairy tale region clings to th foothills of the Vosges mountains in the north eastern corner of France. The wines are known by the grape variety from which they are produced, giving aromatic, quality dry wines shown unmistakably by Gewurtztraminer with its bouquet of wild flowers and exotic spices. Alsace wines are under appreciated here in the UK which is a pity, since they dovetail in admirably with many of the mainstream spicy food styles.
