The Counterfeit Clash

CLASH ROCKERS IN TOWN

The Counterfeit Clash are all set to rock Kilsyth Celtic Supporters Club on Saturday.  There's nothing phoney about the raw energy of this Clash tribute band.  It has gone from strength to strength since forming in 1986.

The Lennoxtown group comprising of brothers George and John Coventry, Ross (Rab) McCahill and John Leslie originally formed for one night only in aid of Cash for Kids.

However, their music proved a success and the band are becoming increasingly popular. Michael McGlade the band's manager said: " It is my belief that with the atmosphere at most of the gigs and the large following that the band have, the Counterfeit Clash must now be regarded as one of the best live acts in the country." Tickets for the gig cost £3 at the door.  Doors open at 8pm. (Cumbernauld News & Chronicle 29/03/00)
