Choral Event 2001

We held the Royston Choral Society Choral Event 2001 on Sunday 30th September. This took the form of an all day Choral Workshop and was held at the Meridian School, Garden Walk, Royston. Members of other choirs and a number of unattached singers from around the area joined us for the day.

Singing hard... Showing how it's done...

We studied excerpts from the Society's main works for this season and other pieces which we want to add to repertoire:

Repertoire
Magnificat Arvo Part
Jubilate Deo (8-part) Giovanni Gabrieli
Lady a Garland Pearsall
...and excerpts from
Messa di Gloria Puccini
Te Deum Dvorak
Requiem Fauré
Requiem Duruflé

We made good progress during the day under the professional guidance of David Boarder and Sarah Connor. The day culminated in a 3pm 'perfomance' of the music we had worked on.

Lunch (with wine)

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves, helped by a glass of a wine at lunchtime (to loosen the vocal chords, naturally) and look forward to doing it all again next year.
