RCS logoRoyston Choral Society

Royston Choral Society was formed in 1974 and now consists of about 40 amateur singers. We perform a wide variety of choral music in 3 concerts a year, usually in Royston Parish Church. Despite the venue and much of the music, we are not a religious organisation.

From time to time we will join forces with other choirs to perform more major works. In this way we've done the Vaughan Williams' Donna Nobis Pacem with Anglia University, and more recently the Mozart Great Mass in C Minor and CPE Bach Magnificat with Heath Mount Singers.

We rehearse on Tuesday evenings during school terms, from 8:00 to 10:00 in the Parish Church, and as seems common amongst singers, there is a group which retires to the pub afterwards!

Musical Director, David Boarder

Although we share our Musical Director with Heath Mount Singers there is no desire on either side to merge the choirs, nor will the programmes overlap significantly.
