Female singers from the Royston Choral Society are on the lookout for men!
Women currently outnumber men by 2:1 in the 60-strong choir. The Choral Society are making a special effort to redress this imbalance with an ’Open Rehearsal’ at Royston Parish Church on 6 May.
Men (and women) who join the choir can discover a range of benefits, as well as the obvious enjoyment of being part of a successful singing group with a great team spirit. Many find singing is a real ‘stress-buster’ after a busy day in the office. It’s also a great way to meet like-minded people, and many look forward to the drink in the pub after rehearsals!
The choir are about to start their Tuesday evening rehearsals for their summer concert on 28 June which will be a rich mixture of popular and lesser-known pieces. So there’s no better time for singers of all ages and abilities (there are no auditions) to ’have a go’ by going along to Royston Parish Church at 8pm on Tuesday 6 May. Men will, or course, be most welcome!
