Royston Choral Society and the Royston Town Band join forces to perform a rich mix of classical and popular pieces on Saturday 13 July at Royston Parish Church.
The concert, which starts at 7.30pm, features uplifting pieces such as I was glad by Hubert Parry, and My spirit sang all day by Gerald Finzi, alongside a lighter repertoire which includes I’m beginning to see the light by Duke Ellington, and George Shearing’s Lullaby of Birdland.
The choir’s Musical Director David Boarder is looking forward to performing with the Royston Town Band again: "As a choir we are always keen to expand our repertoire and cater for a variety of musical tastes. We last performed with the Town Band two years ago, and the re-union is very much by popular request"
Tickets - £7.50 ( £5 for retired, unemployed and students, £1 ‘still at school’ ) - are on sale in advance from Royston Library or at the door on the night. Travel can be arranged on request. For further information about the concert and choir call David Boarder on 01992 623489 or Caroline Franks on 01920 822723.
