Why a wood network?

The Oswestry area is home to many small scale producers and users of wood

Through their work, they contribute to the local rural based economy and environment. The idea for a network came about because of the mutual benefits that working together could bring to these people

We hope to improve co-operation, local marketing, wood sourcing and other partnerships, bringing together those who produce or use only small amounts of wood locally, to make more of their effort work for them

Who is the wood network for?

Well this may be a whole range of people associated with wood, from growing to cutting, artistic hobby use to small scale felling

Basically, anyone living and or working in the Oswestry area who uses or produces small scale local wood

Here are just a few examples:

  • small woodland owners
  • small local woodland contractors
  • woodland managers
  • people who use local wood for their hobby or business, or would like to in the future
  • someone building a timber framed house
  • joiners and turners
  • sculptors
  • arboriculturalists
  • garden furniture makers

Or anyone else looking to use or helping to produce, small scale local timber for small scale projects . . . . . . . .small is beautiful
