Released on Live Notes (catalogue number WWCC-7328) in 1999 in Japan, this CD was Rustem Hayroudinoff’s solo debut recording. Musica Nova magazine (Tokyo) wrote about it: "Apart from the brilliant technique his performance on this CD displays the lyricism unusual for many Russian musicians. Particularly striking are the pieces by Rachmaninoff for the sheer singing quality and the Blue Danube Waltz, which is full of vitality and vigorous, bouncing rhythm.” An Equal Music: Released on Decca (catalogue number 466945-2) in 2000, this double-CD album comprises a compilation of music from the best-selling novel by Vikram Seth and features, among other artists, Andras Schiff, Mstislav Rostropovich and Maria Joao Pires. The new recordings include the Largo from Vivaldi’s “Manchester Sonata” No.1 performed by Philippe Honore and Rustem Hayroudinoff and Contrapunctus 1 from Bach’s “The Art of Fugue” performed by Rustem Hayroudinoff. Shostakovich Theatre Music - Premiere Recordings: Released on Chandos (catalogue number CHAN 9907) in April 2001, this CD contains 32 tracks of the great composer’s virtually unknown incidental music to the following plays: “The Human Comedy”, “The Bedbug”, “Conditionally Killed”, “Hamlet”, “Salute, Spain”, “Russian River”, “King Lear” and the famous “wrong-note” “Polka” from the ballet “The Golden Age”.
