This traditional 17th century local in an historic market town was Shakespeare CAMRA Pub of the Year 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2007. Also featured as Pub of the Month, August 2001, in What's Brewing, the CAMRA newspaper. Restoration has preserved its five rooms and many original features within the pub. There is also a function room and a pretty walled garden at the rear. Four regular ales and four guests are always available and it holds beer festivals during the Alcester & Arden Folk Festival at midsummer, plus an Oktoberfest. It has both traditional English and a-la-carte menus (not Sun eve). Regular folk sessions are held twice a month (Tue & Fri) and spontaneous music may be expected at any time. White Hart Morris Men practice here on Monday evenings.
