Deeside Orienteering Club (DEE) was founded in 1969. Geographically it covers most of Cheshire west of the M6, and the Wirral. Our Club magazine Deeside News is published bi-monthly, and sent out to members with a copy of the NW News, and the NW Fixtures sheet. We revised the club Constitution in October 1999.

Club Colours

The Deeside colours are black, red and white - a new design of O suit has recently been introduced.
The older 'O' top had a black body, with red sleeves, and a white bib. For summer wear this was relaced by a white mesh top with a broad horizontal bands of red and black. The trousers were black with a red stripe down the outside of each leg.
Club orienteering kit can be obtained through the club, and an advert is put in Deeside News before an order is due to be placed.
Cloth badges with the Deeside logo (see top of page) can usually be obtained from enquiries at Deeside events.

Permanent Courses & Events

DEE maintains a number of Permanent Courses, and runs events about once a month through the autumn and winter.

Deeside OC stages several events throughout the year, including a series of about a dozen informal summer evening events during April, May, June and July, which form an ideal introduction to orienteering; the schedule for the year is published in late March/early April.
A Galoppen, with a number of categories, is run for club members on the results of the Summer Evening Events.
The Club also stages major events which may attract in excess of 500 orienteers from clubs throughout the country.

Deesiders also attend colour coded and badge events run by other clubs all over the country, and abroad.
The orienteering calendar ( NWOA, BOF fixtures) usually contains several events on every weekend of the year. However, the main season is considered to start in September and finish with the major championships in April/May.

Deeside also puts on Orienteering training sessions for juniors.
A group of Deesiders meet on most Tuesday evenings for a training run - open to all who care to attend.
