During the Winter Season the Short Mat Bowlers take over the activities of the Club. When the Club House was built it was designed to accommdate two mats, so the Short Mat Members are able to carry on Bowling throughout the Winter months, with roll ups, friendly and league matches.
The Club Badge. What does "OFFA" stand for is a question
often asked. It is reputed that Offa 757 - 796 A.D. King
of Mercia, he of the famed Dyke, had a "Palace"
located on the South facing slope outside Winslow. To the
best of my knowledge there is no archaeological evidence
to prove this or not.For further information see www.offa.demon.co.uk. |
