Q A GD has been
penalised for obstruction. Can the GA take one whole step, putting down
both feet? Isn't this footwork?
A Under Section
18.3 (Penalty Pass or Penalty Pass or Shot)
18.3.3 states:-
The penalty shall be taken where the infringement was standing except where this
places the non-offending team at a disadvantage, when the penalty shall be taken
where the obstructed or contacted player was standing.
In layman terms, yes the GA can step forward putting both feet on the
ground to where the GD was to take the Shot.
Q A Goal Attack lands
with the ball with one foot in the circle and one foot out. Is she allowed
to shoot?
A No. Rule 15.3 (i)
(Scoring a goal) In taking a shot at goal a player shall have no contact
with the ground outside the goal circle either during the catching of the ball
or whilst holding it.
Q An infringement takes
place in the circle and a toss up is given. The goal shooter wins the toss
up. Is she allowed to shoot.
A Yes. Rule
18.5.6 When a goal shooter or goal attack wins a toss up in the goal
circle, the player may either shoot for goal or pass. N.B. If one
player moves too soon, a free pass is awarded to the opposing team, no shot
allowed at goal.
