SPEAKER KITS

Although it would be more financially profitable for me, I have chosen the best sounding drive units rather than the most expensive. My reputation has been built on providing a neutral and natural sound quality; rather than offering a range of kits designed to correct problems inherant in unbalanced systems, or which appeal on first audition only.

Since selling my half of Wilmslow Audio, I have found that most of my mail order speaker customers have wanted me to design a loudspeaker system specifically for them, based on my experience and I am more than happy to do this. Just let me know your budget/size requirements/room size etc and I will do the rest. Because I have designed these speakers, it is not difficult to make any fine tuning adjustments if the customer requires ( I have only had to make a very minor alteration to one set so far ).Those who visit me usually buy the Seraph or an adaptation of it.
Those of you who know me will have heard me say in the past that the sound quality is paramount, but it's not always the most expensive product that sounds the best. This is definitely the case in this instance. I know it is difficult not to be synical these days, especially with some of the 'embellished' claims that have been made about some products, you can do as I used to and waste time and money looking for the Holy Grail, or join me in Nirvana.
I have been designing Loudspeakers for over 25 years now and many homes worldwide currently enjoy listening to some of my designs, the most famous of them is probably the original version of the 'Wilmslow Audio Prestige', which is up there competing with the best.
In my latest Top of the range design, I have kept to my ideals of sound reproduction, but have taken on board the comments that some people levelled at that particular design along with a few reservations that I had myself. It needed to be much less intrusive to look at, whilst hopefully improving the sound quality. Price should also be a consideration, but not at the expense of that sound quality. One of my own comments was that I would like to find a drive unit with a wider frequency band than the ATC midrange without sacrificing that open and natural reproduction, this would have the added benefit of allowing a different method of representing the dedicated bass and enclosure styling. This in turn would allow me to drastically reduce the frontal area of the cabinet, which would help to increase the open midrange character, whilst improving the looks no end!

It is well documented that it is more beneficial to 'hard wire' the passive crossovers, so I do not supply them ready mounted on an inferior PCB.

The two way active crossover is upgradeable to three way by sending it to me, so you don't even have to buy another set of crossovers and of course the active kits can be upgraded from basic amps to top notch amps.

Can be converted to the Seraph 2 by adding the bass cabinets or add an active subwoofer.
